Suspect in custody: Officials have identified the suspect in the killing of Charlie Kirk as Tyler Robinson. He is being held without bail in a Utah jail on multiple charges, including aggravated murder. Sources told CNN that Robinson has refused to cooperate with investigators.
Sequence of events: According to Utah Gov. Spencer Cox, the investigation began after one of Robinson’s relatives alerted a family friend, who then contacted authorities late last night.
Investigation details: A family member reported that Robinson had expressed hostility toward Kirk prior to the shooting, the governor said. Investigators later recovered a bolt-action rifle wrapped in a towel. Casings found with the weapon contained inscriptions, including one that read, “Hey fascist! Catch!”
